CRH leader chosen for statewide Caregiver award

A Columbus Regional Health leader has been chosen as Caregiver of the Year by the Indiana Hospital Association.

According to CRH, director of emergency management Tony Pope was chosen for the honor at the 20th annual Indiana Quality and Safety Summit held last week in Fishers.

The award is named the Douglas J. Leonard Indiana Caregiver of the Year Award in honor of former CRH and IHA leader Doug Leonard.

Pope was previously the chief of the CRH police force.

According to the hospital, Pope has fostered “a culture where patients, families and healthcare workers feel protected, respected and supported.” The award cited “innovative workplace violence prevention initiatives, staff education, emergency preparedness leadership and a collaborative approach that bridges security and clinical care.”
