Deputies make record donations to local food banks
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department says it set a new record of non-perishable food donations through the Pack A Patrol Car efforts.
According to the department, deputies received 7,200 pounds of non perishable food donations and delivered those to Love Chapel and the Salvation Army Friday. They say that is 3,200 pounds more than last year.
The department is thanking the community for the donations and JayC, Sams Club and Kroger for allowing deputies to collect food donations at those stores.
Sheriff Chris Lane said, “What a response from our community. This year with the record amount of donations goes to show the great community we have here in Bartholomew County. I’d like to thank all those who donated and thank the local grocery stores that allowed us to collect at their locations. Again, we’d like to thank the community for their support in helping those in need during the holiday season.”
