Forecasters see increasing chance of severe weather tonight

Forecasters see an increasing danger of severe weather for our area later today.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says most of central Indiana, including the northern part of Bartholomew County, as well as Johnson, Shelby and Decatur counties is now under a slight risk of severe weather this afternoon and into the evening. That is the second lowest risk level issued by the weather service. The southern half of Bartholomew as well as most of Brown and all of Jackson and Jennings Counties are under a marginal risk of severe weather, the lowest level of risk.

Hazards could include damaging winds of up to 60 mph, very large hail, heavy rain with localized flooding and isolated tornadoes possible.
