Gas station price listing problem

A local gas station manager is having headaches caused by high gas prices and prices listed online for her Columbus store.

Contrary to online reports, the GetGo store at 1711 East 25th Street in Columbus does not have the lowest gas prices in the area. In fact, it no longer exists.

National gas-pricing website GasBuddy.com shows the lowest price in the Columbus area listed as of April 7th as $3.12 a gallon at the GetGo on 25th Street. In fact, it is even listing that price as the lowest in the state of Indiana.

But the problem is that there is no longer a GetGo at that location. The station manager points out that the store had new ownership as of last summer and is now a Mapco, where the price is $4.19 a gallon. But she has had no luck getting that incorrect price, or the store’s current name changed online.

The mixup has caused frustrations from customers who expect the rock-bottom price and are disappointed to find the much higher accurate price when they arrive at her store.

GasBuddy is also the source of gas prices listed on our PumpPatrol page on our website. Because of the error, we have also mentioned the incorrect price on our radio stations. We apologize for the error and are working to get the information corrected or removed from our site.
