Historic Bartholomew maps to be focus of Thursday talk

The Bartholomew County Historical Society will be hosting an event next week focused on 250 years of maps of the area that became Bartholomew County.

The speaker for the “Bartholomew County on the Map: 1776-2026” talk will be County Historian Dr. Tami Stone Iorio. She will take a look at the history through the changes to 11 maps that detail railroads, mail routes, military bases, ghost towns and more.

The is the second of this year’s Evelyn Seward Speaker Series events. The event is free due to funding from the Evelyn Seward Speaker Series Endowment.

It will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the evening of Thursday, June 18th, at Helen Haddad Hall. That is at 315 Franklin St., Columbus.
