Joint operation leads to nine years in prison for local man
A man arrested during a drug sweep last September called Operation Cold Front has been sentenced to nine years in prison.
According to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office, Daniel S. Houchens was arrested during the operation and charged with dealing in methamphetamine. He pleaded guilty in December.
At a sentencing hearing last week, Bartholomew Superior Court Judge Jim Worton sentenced Houchens to nine years to be served in the Indiana Department of Correction.
Houchen was one of nine people arrested in Operation Cold Front in September which was a coordinated effort by the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, the county sheriff’s department and prosecutor’s office and Columbus Police Department.
