Local development group plans 50th anniversary celebration

The Greater Columbus Economic Development Corporation will be holding its annual meeting later this month at The Commons.

Organizers say that this year’s event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the group and five decades of economic development in Columbus, Edinburgh and throughout Bartholomew County.

The program will feature a moderated panel with leaders and partners who have shaped the organization’s work over the years. The conversation will be led by Phil Wagner, who became president of the organization’s board in January.

The discussion will explore how the community and the corporation have evolved, the importance of relationships and collaboration, and how past lessons can help inform the future.

The event will start at 11 a.m. Friday, February 27th at The Commons with the discussion beginning at noon and lasting until 1 p.m. in the afternoon.

The luncheon will is open to the public and you are invited to attend. Advance tickets are available for individuals for $85 or tables of eight are available for $680, and can be purchased online at www.ColumbusIN.org/AnnualMeeting.
