North Vernon traffic stop leads to arrest on drug charges

An early morning traffic stop in North Vernon led to an arrest on drug related charges today.

According to the North Vernon Police Department, an officer stopped a vehicle that was driving with a broken brake light at shortly after midnight Friday. A police dog alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle and a search recovered methamphetamine, THC products and drug paraphernalia.

A passenger, Tristan Johnson of North Vernon, was arrested on preliminary charges for possessing the drugs and paraphernalia.
