Our Hospice announces Labor Day weekend concert plans

Our Hospice of South Central Indiana is announcing the lineup for its 40th annual Labor Day weekend concert, along with a return to an old location and a return to a free concert.

The hospice announced recently that this year’s headliner will be 40 Years of College and the show will take place on the steps of the Bartholomew County Public Library on Fifth Street, the site of the first show in 1987. And this year, the concert will return to being a free event.

Organizers say that the concert is not only the largest fundraiser for the local non profit group, but also a chance to educate attendees on the hospice and its mission to Make Every Moment Count. The hospice opened in 1980 and provides end-of-life care, grief support, and resources to patients and their families. The organization is based in Columbus and provides care in 22 counties throughout south-central Indiana.

Although it has been a free concert held outdoors for most of its existence, for the past two years, the concert has been a ticketed event held at Nexus Park.

The show will be Saturday September 5th starting at 4 p.m. The opening act will be 3 Beards Strummin.
