River flooding continues in wake of heavy rain
A flood warning is in effect for East Fork White River in Seymour. Minor flooding is ongoing and minor flooding is forecast.
According to stream gauges, the rivers is at 13.73 feet this morning. That is a foot and three quarters above the minor flood stage of 12 feet. After a dip later today, the river is expected to go back up and crest at 14.3 feet Thursday morning. It won’t drop below the minor flood stage again until Friday afternoon.
The flood warning is in effect until late Saturday morning.
Driftwood River at Edinburgh is also rising. It is expected to rise to just above minor flooding Thursday morning.
Emergency officials urge you to turn around and don’t drown if you come across a flooded roadway. Must flood deaths occur in vehicles.
