Road work to close interstate lanes in Shelby County

INDOT says that construction will be starting soon on a project on Interstate 74 in Shelby County.

According to the agency that work will include pavement rehabilitation, bridge deck repairs and new lighting at the Shelby and Decatur County line.

The work is set to start on Tuesday, April 21st with the right lane of eastbound and westbound I-74 closing while crews strengthen the shoulder in preparation for the next phases. That work will be going on between State Road 44 and County Road 800W from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and then from State Road 9 to State Road 44 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The work is expected to take about two weeks. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.
