Severe weather possible today with return of rain

There is a chance for some bad weather today as sustained rain finally returns to our area.

The National Weather Service in Louisville says southeastern Indiana is under a marginal risk of severe weather today, as strong showers and thunderstorms move through the area. The main threats could be gusty winds, lighting and small hail. Brief periods of heavy rain are also possible.

Looking ahead, forecasters say that thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible over the next few days, through Thursday. But severe weather is not expected.
