State police say traffic effort led to arrests, citations and chase

Indiana State Police say that a special patrol last week in Bartholomew and Jackson counties led to several citations, arrests and one police chase.

The targeted enforcement effort was last Friday on Interstate 65. Troopers looked for unsafe motorists and those committing criminal violations. During the patrols, troopers issued 35 traffic citations, including 28 for speeding and 31 warnings. The stops also led to arrests of a wanted fugitive, a driver with a suspended license and for people possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Troopers also located a stolen vehicle driving in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 in Bartholomew County. Instead of stopping, the driver took off eventually crashing in southern Shelby County. 18-year-old Draymond Prince of Elizabethtown, Kentucky was arrested on numerous local charges.

Several other local law enforcement agencies assisted in the incident.
