State Road 58 closing next week for culvert work near Freetown

State Road 58 will be closing near Freetown in Jackson County for about a month and a half starting next week as crews work on a box culvert over a tributary to South Fork Salt Creek.

According to INDOT, the work will close the highway between State Road 135 and South Fork Salt Creek starting on Thursday, April 16th. The official detour will take State Road 135 to U.S. 50 to State Road 446 and then back to State Road 58.

The work is expected to last until mid May but the work schedule is dependent on the weather.

E&B Paving will be doing the work as part of a $6.8 million project.

INDOT urges you to slow down, to drive without distractions and to use extra caution to worker safety in all work zones.
