Storms knock down trees, powerlines; Power out for many

Many area residents are without power after storms blew through south central Indiana earlier tonight.

Reported outages as off 10 p.m.:

Duke Energy: More than 1,400 outages in our area including 491 in Seymour, 776 in Shelbyville, and 48 in North Vernon.

Jackson County REMC: About 3,600 outages, with 1,900 in the Hayden area, 439 in the Cortland area, 350 between Seymour and Crothersville along Interstate 65 and 283 south of Crothersville.

Bartholomew County REMC: 19 without power

Johnson County REMC: 5 outages

Southeastern Indiana REMC: 2 in Jennings County

South Central Indiana REMC: 4 in Brown County.
