Sunday heat set new records across central Indiana
Sunday saw record-breaking heat across Central Indiana.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis, says temperatures hit 88 degrees on Sunday at Indianapolis. That broke the old daily record of 82 degrees set in 1907 but also set a new record for the month of March, which had previously been 85 degrees on March 31st of 1981. The weather service says the earliest 88 degree temperatures ever seen was on April 11th of 1930.
The Indianapolis temperatures then dropped by more than 40 degrees in just over 4 and a half hours, with the temperature hitting 48 degrees by 9 p.m. last night.
