Travel restrictions continue throughout southeastern Indiana

All area counties still have travel restrictions this morning, with Bartholomew, Johnson, Jennings and Jackson counties still at an orange travel watch level. Under a travel watch, conditions are said to be threatening to the safety of the public. Only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended,

Brown, Decatur and Shelby counties have further relaxed their travel restrictions but are still under yellow travel advisories, the lowest level of local travel restriction. A travel advisory means that conditions could be hazardous in some areas.

Forecasters say patchy, freezing fog is out there in some spots this morning. And area emergency officials say that blowing snow is still drifting across some roadways, requiring repeated snow plow passes to keep them clear.

You can expect that secondary roads and less traveled areas could still be snow and ice covered. Authorities warn roads could be slick and you should give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
