Two arrested after Saturday morning traffic stop

A Saturday morning traffic stop in Jennings County led to the arrest of two Kentucky residents on drug-related charges.
According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy stopped a speeding vehicle near the intersection of U.S. 50 and Old U.S. 50 at about 11:45 a.m. Saturday morning. During the stop, the deputy became suspicious and a search uncovered about three grams of methamphetamine.
As police took the occupants into custody, a woman who was a passenger tried to run away. Police caught her in the middle of the highway and took her into custody.
52-year-old Theresa Stivers of Bedford, Kentucky was arrested on charges for possessing the meth and drug paraphernalia, providing a false identity to police and resisting law enforcement.
60 year old Archie Spurr of Orthfield, Kentucky is being accused of maintaining a common nuisance.
