Visitor restrictions start Monday at CRH

Columbus Regional Health will be putting visitor restrictions in place next week to help slow the spread of respiratory viral illnesses.

According to the hospital, there is an increase in cases of RSV, COVID and influenza in the community at large and hospital patients. In an effort to protect patients and staff, visitor restrictions will go into effect on Monday. Visitation hours will not be changed.

Those restrictions will include asking visitors with symptoms of a respiratory illness will be asked to leave the hospital. Those symptoms can include cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, diarrhea, tiredness, headache, or vomiting.

Visitors may be asked to wear a mask in patient rooms.

Visitors must be 18 or older and only two visitors will be allowed per patient.

In the birthing center, patients must identify up to two support people to be present during labor and no more than four other people will be allowed to visit during the hospital stay.

In the Level 2 Nursery, two individuals will be identified with an ID band matching the infant’s band and only those two will be allowed to visit. There will be no additional visitors allowed in the Level 2 Nursery.
