Winter storm warning set for our area; up to 6″ of snow possible

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a winter storm warning for our area including Bartholomew, Decatur, Johnson and Shelby counties. The warning is in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday to midnight.

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches. Isolated higher amounts possible.

* WHERE…Portions of central, east central, and west central Indiana.

* WHEN…From 11 AM this morning to midnight EST tonight.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

A winter weather advisory goes into effect at 11 a.m. for parts of our area including Brown, Jackson and Jennings counties.
