Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon Awarded MBE By Prince William At Windsor Castle

During a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Tuesday (November 12), Simon Le Bon was formally appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). The Duran Duran frontman received the honor from Prince William, in recognition for his career in service to music and charity. “It is fitting that the honour has been awarded not just for my role in music, but also for the work I’ve been fortunate to be involved with outside the band for some of the causes I believe in,” Le Bon wrote on Instagram in June. The official Duran Duran account shared an Instagram Story on the day of the ceremony featuring a photo of Le Bon being presented the award by Prince William, with the caption, “On behalf of the band, and their management, we want to congratulate Simon on receiving his MBE this morning at Windsor Castle.” Le Bon joins a long list of MBE-awarded musicians like the Beatles, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Mel B, and Blackpink.
