Johnny Cash’s Granddaughter Stars In His New Music Video

Songwriter, a previously unheard, posthumous record from Johnny Cash, was released on Friday. Adding to the music world’s excitement surrounding the new Cash album, a music video from the collection was just released starring The Man In Black’s granddaugher. Six-year-old Grace June Cash is the youngest of Johnny’s granddaughters, and the daughter of the album’s producer, John Carter Cash, and his wife Ana Cristina Cash.

In the deeply moving video for “Hello Out There,” Grace explores the Cash family cabin in the stark black-and-white clip, looking at musical artifacts from the legendary country careers of her grandparents. Grace’s striking physical similarities to her grandmother, June Carter Cash, are revealed at the end of the clip, showing just how much she looks like the grandmother whom she never met. Marty Stuart plays guitar on “Hello Out There,” which was apparently inspired by the launch of the Voyager spaceship and dates back to recording sessions from the early 80s. (Taste of Country)
