New Trailer Released For Martin Scorsese-Produced ‘Beatles ’64’ Documentary
A new trailer has been shared for the upcoming Disney+ documentary, Beatles ‘64, which is directed by David Tedeschi and produced by Martin Scorsese. The rock doc features newly discovered Maysles brothers footage of the Beatles initial visit to the United States in February of 1964, which caused Beatlemania to overtake America. Beatles ‘64 also includes new interviews with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as archival interviews with the young British band.
“From the instant they landed at Kennedy Airport, met by thousands of fans, Beatlemania swept New York and the entire country,” Disney+ said of the documentary. “Their thrilling debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show captivated more than 73 million viewers, the most watched television event of its time.” A clip from the trailer features John Lennon’s thoughts on Beatlemania, “It was like being in the eye of a hurricane. It was happening to us, but it was hard to see.” Beatles ’64 premieres on Disney+ on November 29. (Rolling Stone)
