Driver injured after rear-end hit by truck on State Road 3

A driver in Decatur County was seriously injured after being rear-ended Monday morning by a box truck

According to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, 34-year-old Brittany Richmond of Milan was stopped at a red light on northbound State Road 3 at County Road 250W at about 8:22 a.m. yesterday morning. That’s when the box truck crashed into her car, annihilating the rear of the vehicle and spinning it completely around.

Richmond was first taken to Decatur County Memorial Hospital for treatment and then flown to an Indianapolis area hospital for her injuries, were were believed to not be life threatening.

The driver of the truck, 23-year-old Harmeet Singh of Indianapolis, was uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation.
