Columbus man sentenced after fentanyl sales

A Columbus man is heading to prison after pleading guilty to felony drug dealing charges.
According to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office, 35-year-ol Derrick Brown of Columbus was arrested in May of last year after he sold fentanyl twice to members of the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team.
He was charged with dealing in a narcotic drug and in June he pled guilty to both charges.
A sentencing hearing was held last week in Bartholomew Circuit court and on Thursday he was sentenced to two four year prison terms, to be served consecutively.
