William Shatner, 93, Says De-Aging Tech Could Help Him Play Capt. Kirk

William Shatner says he would still be open to returning as Captain Kirk in a new Star Trek project if the script impressed him. The actor, who turned 93 in March, believes de-aging technology could be used to help him portray a younger version of the character. “[It] takes years off of your face, so that in a film you can look 10, 20, 30, 50 years younger than you are,” he said. Shatner, who is now the spokesperson for Otoy, a company specializing in de-aging technology, also suggested a potential plot device that could bring his character back to life (following Kirk’s death in the 1994 film Star Trek Generations). “A company that wants to freeze my body and my brain for the future might be a way of going about it,” Shatner suggested.
