Bartholomew County to move early voting to Gather Columbus space
Bartholomew County early voters will have a new site for polling this year.
County Clerk Shari Lentz updated the Bartholomew County Commissioners this week on planned vote center locations for the May primary election, with the Gather Columbus Event Space being the new site to vote early. That is the former Texas Roadhouse location at 2508 2tth Street. In most recent elections early voting has been at Nexus Park and prior to that at Donner Center, but Lentz explained that those sites were not available for this year’s primary voting. She said that the voting will take place in a conference room at the Gather Columbus Event Space and expected to return to the commissioners next week with a contract to use that space.
Early voting will begin on April 7th and run weekdays from 8 to 5 at the 25th Street location. There will also be Saturday voting hours on April 25th and May 2nd from 8 to 3 p.m. at the center and at the Bartholomew County Governmental Office Building on Third Street. Early voting will end at noon on Monday, May 4th.
Primary election day is Tuesday May 5th and Bartholomew county votes can cast ballots at one of 15 voting centers. New voting center sites this year include Gather Columbus, as well as the Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum on Ray Boll Boulevard and Grace Lutheran Church on Central Avenue. Lentz said that although Grace Lutheran was a long time polling location, the church stopped the practice during the pandemic and this will be their first year back for opening the church to voters.
