Bridge over Interstate 74 to close next week

A Decatur County road over Interstate 74 will be closing for nearly two months as part of a rehabilitation project.

According to INDOT, starting on June 1st, crews will be closing County Road 80 to complete bridge repairs. That will include a complete bridge deck overlay, bridge approach rehabilitation, and installing railings.

The work is expected to keep the road closed until late July.

This work is part of a larger $74.4 million interstate improvement contract awarded to John R. Jurgensen Company. The whole project is expected to be completed late in 2028.
