Columbus police investigating 16-month-old’s death

Columbus police are investigating the death of a toddler yesterday.

According to the Columbus Police Department, rescue workers were called to the 3600 block of Nicholas Lane at 2:14 pm Wednesday afternoon about a child not breathing. When police, firefighters and medics arrived they found a 16-month-old child who was not breathing. The child was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment, but later died.

Police say that the investigation is ongoing. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.
