Columbus police investigating shooting death

Columbus police are investigating after a shooting this morning left a person dead.

According to the Columbus Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 3000 block of Wedgewood Drive on a reported shooting at about 9:06 a.m. this morning. A caller told authorities that he had shot a man who had attacked him.

Police arrived, secured the area and then began to render aid to the man who had been shot. Medics arrived on the scene and tended to the wounded man, but police say that he eventually died.
