Community Foundation receives $3 million grant from Lilly

The Johnson County Community Foundation is receiving a $3 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to help local organizations.

The foundation announced recently that the Community Support Grant is being made through the Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow program. The initiative is meant to support community foundations to strengthen the quality of life in their communities.

Organizers with the foundation said that the grant will “ strengthen the foundation’s grantmaking capacity, support community-driven priorities, and ensure
that vital resources reach the people and organizaons who need them most.”

Lilly Endowment created the initiative in 1990 to help local communities develop the philanthropic capacity to identify local needs and challenges and work with other organizations and residents to help their communities thrive.
