Crump Center for Performing Arts discussion set for Thursday

Project Encore will be having an event Thursday to give updates about designs and plans for the Crump Theatre.

The more than 135 year old Crump Theatre is slated for a major renovation and expansion, becoming the Crump Center for the Performing Arts by 2028.

Organizers will be sharing a study completed by historic consultants New History on their assessment of the existing building structure and how it will remain the basis for all of the design work for both the existing and new construction.

Last week, state officials announced that the project would receive more a just over $6 million grant from the Readi 2.0 Arts and Culture initiative, the largest grant in the state.

The update will be at the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic’s Helen Haddad Hall at 5:30 p.m.
