Downtown Columbus walking parade seeks entries

Sign ups are open for those who want to take part in Saturday’s Patriotic Walking Parade in downtown Columbus.

Organizers of the city’s Celebrate 250 events say that the parade will start Saturday at 11 a.m. at Seventh and Washington Streets and end in front of The Commons. Entrants could include:

  • Bicycles

  • Wagons

  • Strollers

  • Scooters

  • Walking groups

  • Pets

  • Homemade non-motorized floats

  • Community organizations

  • Sports teams and youth groups

Organizers are going to be awarding prizes in categories including:

  • Cardboard Car

  • Most Patriotic Bicycle

  • Walk Your Pet

  • Best Decorated Wagon

  • Best Dressed Family

  • Stroller Spectacular

To take part you should plan on arriving an hour early to get checked in.
