Extreme heat warning extended through Friday night

This extreme heat is going to stick around for longer than previously forecast.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has now declared an extreme heat WARNING for our area through Friday night with heat indices as high as 106 both days.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, the real temperature is going to be in the low 90s again today but the humidity is going to make that feel like it is up to 106 during the hottest part of the day.

The weather service says that you should avoid strenuous activities outdoors, wear light clothing and make sure to drink plenty of water. You should also check in on family members and neighbors who might be vulnerable and never leave people or pets in a closed vehicle under these conditions.
