Firefighters urge residents to get chimneys cleaned
Area firefighters are warning of the danger of dirty chimneys.
The Campbell Township Fire Department in North Vernon says now is the time to make sure your chimney is ready for safe use if you are going to be burning wood for heat. Firefighters suggest you clean your chimney yearly to protect your home and loved ones
They say that a clogged or creosote-filled chimney can lead to dangerous fires, poor air quality, and reduced heating efficiency.
