First Financial to hold food drive starting Oct. 6th

First Financial Bank will be kicking off a food drive in our area next month.

From Oct. 6th through October 31st, the bank will be accepting canned and nonperishable boxed food at its financial centers in Columbus, Edinburgh and Hope. You will be able to find large, marked bins for your donations.

This is the fourth year First Financial has organized a food drive in support of local communities and more than 19,000 food items have been collected across the bank’s footprint in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Illinois. Last year, 201 food items were donated in Bartholomew County.

After the food drive concludes, First Financial associates will deliver the collected items to partner organizations in the community.

Roddell McCullough, chief corporate responsibility officer for the bank, said that “Helping our neighbors is what we’re all about as we strive to create opportunities for our clients and communities to thrive.”

The food drive is part of the bank’s commitment to the communities it serves. The bank is now in the second year of its $2.4 billion, five-year Community Benefits Agreement with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and partner organizations.
