Signups opening for holiday assistance programs
Signups are starting soon to apply for holiday assistance in Bartholomew County.
The United Way of Bartholomew County is announcing that signups for area holiday assistance programs will start on Wednesday. By calling the United We Help Line you can register for the Community Center of Hope Angel Tree, Columbus Fireman’s Cheer Fund, Shop With A Cop, St. Bartholomew’s Giving Tree, Toys for Tots and Christmas with a Veteran.
The Helpline registers families and children who need help with gifts over the holidays in Bartholomew County. Children may be registered for only a single gift program .Last year, holiday assistance programs helped 3,358 children in Bartholomew County.
You can call the help line Monday through Friday at 812- 375-2216. Signups will continue through December 5th.
In Seymour, the Donald M. Winn Lodge of the Fraternal of Police is accepting applications for its annual Cops and Kids Christmas Shopping Program. The program assists Jackson County families in need with children 5 through 16 years old.
Application forms are available at the police departments in Seymour, Brownstown, Crothersville and Medora as the Jackson County Sheriff Department. Applications are due back by 4 in the afternoon on Wednesday November 19th.
Families will be notified by mail if they have been accepted. You can drop off your application to the Seymour Police Department or mail it in. The address to mail your application:
