Flooding continues on area rivers, more rain in forecast

Flooding continues on rivers and streams in our area including moderate flooding at East Fork White River at Seymour.

Minor flooding is ongoing at East Fork White River at Columbus,  Sugar Creek at Edinburgh and at Driftwood River at Edinburgh, Flat Rock River at Columbus, and Big Blue River at Shelbyville and Little Blue River in Shelby County.

East Fork White River at Columbus crested at 19.49 feet overnight Thursday in the major flood stage. That is the 7th highest crest ever recorded on the river.

The flooded rivers are not all expected to return to their normal levels until next week.
