Homeowner assistance grants remain available in Seymour

The city of Seymour is still taking applications for owner occupied housing rehabilitation grants.

The City of Seymour was awarded the grant money in December of 2024 and the program wraps up in June. City officials say that they still hope to provided assistance to 10 more homeowners this year.

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation grants directly provide funds to low and moderate-income homeowners so they can make needed repairs on their homes.

Repair work can include roof replacements, ADA accessibility, heating and cooling, lighting and electrical upgrades and water heater replacements. Grants are based on income eligibility.

The grants can only go to owner-occupied homes on a permanent foundation.

Funding for the community development block grant programs comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and is administered by the Indiana Office of Community And Rural Affairs.
