Hope Man Sentenced to 5 Years

A Hope man is being sent to prison for five years after repeatedly violating a no contact order.

According to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office, Superior Court 1 Judge Jim Worton sentenced 41-year-old Timothy R. Munn to five years in prison and revoked his prior probation.

The incidents began in December of 2024, when Columbus police went to a home to check on a resident’s welfare and on a reported violation of a no contact order. Police found Munn in a vehicle in the driveway of the home of the victim who had the no contact order against Munn. Police were checking on the victim when Munn started his vehicle and despite being ordered to turn the car off, he accelerated away. On Dec. 17th, Munn was charged with resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and invasion of privacy.

Four days later, police were called back to the home after the victim reported that Munn had called on the phone, another violation of the no contact order. While police were there Munn called again and police confirmed it was him. He was charged again with invasion of privacy.

Prosecutors say that Munn was already on probation for violation of privacy at the time of the new incidents.

In April, Munn pleaded guilty to resisting law enforcement and invasion of privacy.
