Seymour Hosting Free Community Movie Night this Weekend

The City of Seymour will be holding a free community movie night this weekend at the Showplace Cinemas.

According to the mayor’s office, the city and community partners will be offering “The Best We’ve Got: The Carl Erskine (ERR-skin) Story” at 7 p.m. on Sunday. The documentary celebrates the life and legacy of Erskine, the legendary Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher.

Filmmaker Ted Green will be on hand to introduce the film and take part in a question-and-answer session following the screening.

The event is being held as part of Seymour’s celebration of America 250 highlighting individuals whose stories reflect the values of service, perseverance, and community.
