IU Columbus recognizes students graduating with nursing degrees

IU Columbus recently honored nine students in a pinning ceremony after they earned their bachelor of science in nursing in the accelerated program.

According to the school, IU’s School of Nursing has held pinning ceremonies since 1948. The traditional Indiana University pin incorporates the cream and crimson seal, an open book symbolizing education, and a border inscription that says, “School of Nursing.”

Caroline Sims, Assistant Dean of the IU School of Nursing in Columbus, led the ceremony last month that marks the transition of students from nursing school to nursing practice. The keynote speaker for the ceremony was Columbus Regional Health Chief Nursing Officer Staci Glick. Class representative Kelly Stam also spoke
