Jackson Chamber recognizes businesses, teachers and residents with awards

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is announcing the winners of various awards after their 95th annual awards dinner last week.

The chamber gave its Business Hall of Fame awards, with Meraki Massage & Wellness being recognized in the small business category, First Financial bank as the medium business and Cerrowire as the large business. Lance Gentry was chosen as Committee Member of the Year, Abigail Wheeler as Young Professional of the Year and Sehrish Sangamkar with the Spirit of the Chamber award.

The chamber also recognized teachers of the year, with Jennie Chase from Emerson Elementary and Tina McClure from Brownstown Elementary, Alicia McCrary from Brownstown Central Middle School and Sara Bane from Seymour High School receiving the awards.

The Chamber partnered with the Jackson County Visitors Center recognizing Kaylee Holt of Kay’s Kafe with the Heart of Hospitality award, Conner Barnette with the Small Town Impact in Hospitality award and Sam Patel with Fun Blast receiving the Smalltown Hospitality Excellence Award.

The dinner was Thursday night at the Jackson Live and Event Center in Seymour.
