Leaf pickups to begin Monday in Seymour

The Seymour Department of Public Works will begin leaf pickup on Monday.

According to the department, you should have your leaves out to the curb on the day after your normal trash pickup. For Friday routes, leaf pickups will be held on Monday.

Leaf piles should be within four feet of the curb, away from any vehicles, fire hydrants, fences or other obstructions. You should make sure your leaf piles are free of any debris. If the pile contains trash, sticks, limbs, flowers, pumpkins, gourds or other debris they will not be collected. Officials stress that the leaf pickup is for leaves only, not general yard waste.

The leaf pickup routes will run until the leaves finishing falling, typically by mid-December.
