Local government offices closing for Good Friday

Many local government offices will be closed Friday for the Good Friday holiday, including Bartholomew County and Columbus.

However, while Columbus offices will be closed, trash and recycling routes will run on their normal schedule on Friday.

The Columbus and Bartholomew County Recycling Center on Mapleton Street will be closed on Friday as well as the neighboring Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District offices. The Bartholomew County Landfill will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Columbus City Utilities offices are also closed Friday. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, you can call 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.

In Seymour normal Friday trash routes this week will instead be picked up with Thursday routes.
