Man to serve 24 years in child molesting investigation

A Shelby County man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison on child molesting charges.
According to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s office, an investigation began last spring after Shelby County deputies were contacted about several incidents where a young child had been touched inappropriately by Larry A. Williams. The case was forwarded to Columbus Police Department investigators who alleged that Williams had touched the girl inappropriately on two separate occasions.
In November, Williams pled guilty to two felony counts of child molesting. A sentencing hearing was held on Thursday and Bartholomew Circuit Court Judge Kelly Benjamin sentenced Williams to 12 years in the department of corrections on each count, to be served consecutively.
