Marr Road project to start Wednesday

Work will begin Wednesday on a road project on Marr Road in Columbus.

According to the city engineer’s office, asphalt resurfacing will be going on between Jolinda Drive and 25th Street. The engineer’s office explains that asphalt resurfacing progresses through three stages: patching, milling and then the final asphalt overlay. After the patching and milling, the road surface will still be rough, however, crews will return to finish the process and restore the road surface.

Funding for the project comes as part of the city and state’s Community Crossings matching grant program. Milestone will be the contractor for the work.

Officials suggest that you find an alternate route while the project is underway. If you have to travel in the area, you are urged to use extra caution, to follow instructions from flaggers and to drive without distractions.
