New winter market to debut Saturday in downtown Columbus
The Office of Downtown Development in Columbus is organizing a new downtown winter market , with the first set for this weekend.
The Seasonal Entertainment Arts and Recreation Space, or SEARS Winter Market will be on Saturday, December 20th in the former Sears building block between Third and Fourth Streets and Jackson and Brown streets. Organizers say the goal is to offer residents a warm, indoor space to shop, eat, relax, and celebrate the season and to recreate the feel of the downtown farmers market held in warmer months.
Ike DeClue with the Office of Downtown Development explains:
DeClue said that a winter market was something prioritized by residents through the Downtown 2030 community input process.
The event will feature local artisans, food trucks, a bar featuring seasonal drinks, coffee, live music, games and activities for all ages.
Josie Royer with the Office of Downtown Development explains:
This will be the first winter market of the season, with future markets set for January 3rd, 17th, 31st and February 14th.
The first market will be from 11 to 5 on Saturday, Dec. 20th.
The event is free and you are invited to attend.
