Newest Columbus police officer sworn in Tuesday
The Columbus Police Department is welcoming its newest police officer.
Colton Ross was sworn in yesterday by Mayor Mary Ferdon.
Ross graduated from Jennings County High School and attended IU Columbus, studying criminal justice. He joined the IU Police Department as a cadet and after completing the IU Police Academy began working as a part -time officer with the department. Last year, Ross had an internship with the Columbus Police Department.
He finished his bachelor’s degree at IU Columbus last week.
He will next begin training with Columbus police instructors and then take part in field training.
