North Vernon employee facing charges after fight at business

Police have arrested a North Vernon man on battery and other charges following an investigation into an incident earlier this month.

The North Vernon Police Department is reporting today that the incident happened at a business when a fight broke out among employees. The incident  was reported at 11:46 p.m. the evening of June 5th after an argument turned into a fight in the parking lot.

A female victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by Jennings County medics for treatment.

18 year old Isaiah Tungate of North Vernon was arrested at the scene and investigators have forwarded preliminary charges to the Jennings County Prosecutor’s office including:

  • Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury

  • Public Intoxication

  • Disorderly Conduct

  • Minor in Possession of Alcohol

  • Minor Consuming Alcohol

  • Criminal Mischief
